Was the killer afraid of being killed by: the hunter? The victim? This. Someone else? Law enforcement? Was this fear realistic? Yope. Relevant why the killer wanted to kill the victim? No. While not wanting the dead bird, did the "hunter" want the bird dead? Yes. Was he perhaps protecting something? No. Such as crops? Did the hunter want to impress the victim? Possibly. Or someone else? Was the shot that kllled the bird particularly skillful? Or lucky? Assume this.

When the hunter shoots the bird, is the victim present? Yes. If so, does the hunter know this? Yes. Does the victim know the hunter is present? Yes.
When the victim sees the bird, is the hunter present? Yes. If so, does the victim know this? Yes. Is the killer present? Not immediately. If so, does the victim know this? Yes. If the hunter and the killer is present, does the hunter know that the killer is present? Yes. Does the killer know that the hunter is present? Yes, but...
