To clarify, Curtis moved out…without Maura? Because of relationship problems? Health reasons? Military deployment?

If Maura had gotten up to get a drink of water, would the situation likely remain the same? Did Maura relevantly do something else while she was up? Discover something? Was Curtis relevantly asleep? Relevantly awake?

Do they stay married after he moves out? Relevant? Does he move out because he wants it? She wants it? Someone else wants it? Move out: take up residence somewhere else? Was the decision that he should move out made after she got up to pee? Does she also move out? Would it turn out the same if she got up to poo? Does anyone relevantly: die? Get injured? Get crippled? Does he move out in two weeks because that's the time it takes for him to prepare for moving?

Has Curtis been cheating on her?

In the night when she goes up to pee: Is Maura at home? Is Curtis at home? Is Maura with Curtis? Does Maura see something relevant? Hear something relevant? Does her husband say something relevant? Do something relevant?

Oh, crossposting...Maybe some of the questions are redundant or senseless now?

Was Philip about to leave the house? Was Curtis about to return?

Did Curtis pretend to be at work during that night? Is Curtis's profession relevant?

Did Maura expect Curtis to be at home but not necessarily sleeping? so, maybe working from home?

Would Curtis have let Philip in had he been at home?
Relevant where Philip has been?
Did Philip return that late because he had to walk? while he otherwise might have been used his father's car had it been there?
Did Philip ask where his father is?

Relevant how Philip entered the house? If so: front door? Back door? Window? Does Maura find out about the cheating before Curtis gets home? Relevant when he gets home? Has Philip been with friends? A romantic partner? Has he done anything wrong besides being out late? Does he do anything to expose the cheating except coming home when he did? If so, deliberately? Accidentally?

Did Maura first think Curtis is at work when she got up? Did she notice at all that he is not at home? Do they normally sleep in the same room?
Does Curtis's job require frequently to go out to work unexpectedly during night? or was it not unexpected for her to find him not at home? did he say the evening before that he would have to work this night?
Did Philip sneak in through a window? which poses the question why the window was open? did Curtis sneak out through the same window?
Did the fact that Philip was out late (or where he was) imply that Curtis could not possibly be at work?
Is there some other thing usually happening when Curtis goes out to work at night? (like: someone calls him? someone picks him up?) which did not happen this time?
Did Philip do something relevant after he returned? did he eat? drink? shower? go sleeping immediately?
Did Maura talk to Philip? Did Philip lie about where he had been?

Is there anything more why it was wrong for Philip to be out partying, apart from being not allowed by his parents? Covid restrictions relevant? did he drink or smoke before the legal age?
Did Philip claim his father had allowed him to be at the party?

Burglary alarm relevant?
Had Maura not gotten up she would not have noticed Philip returning? Curtis leaving? Curtis returning?
If Curtis is working during night, is he doing it at home? does he go to a specific place? always the same place? does he go to a customer/client? is driving a relevant part of Curtis's job? is he a cab driver?

Did Philip know that Curtis was no longer working at night? Did he expect him to be at home, sleeping, when he left the house? Would he not have attempted to sneak out had he known that his father is out? Is there a chance that Curtis would have noticed Philip leaving the house/being out/returning if he had been at work during that night? Is Curtis's workplace outdoors (or used to be while he was still working at night)? Is he police?
Did Maura call Curtis when Philip returned? Did she expect him to be at work?
Did Curtis mistake the call for something work-related in the beginning? Did he think he's called to work and responded something like "I'll be out in 5 minutes"?

********SPOILER********
Maura's teenage son Philip comes back home after a night of partying at the exact same moment that Maura gets up to pee, so he gets caught. Maura wants to wake up her husband Curtis so that he can chew out / punish Philip, but to her surprise, Curtis is not in bed. Maura thinks he must have been called into work and calls his workplace. His co-worker tells her that Curtis hasn't worked a single night shift all year. When Curtis eventually comes home hours later, Maura confronts him and he admits to having cheated on her with Julia. Curtis then moves out and the couple gets divorced.
