Whatever makes people assume you're superstitious:
is it something you do (if it is something you actively do?) regularly? often? rarely?
something you wear? some sort of good luck charm?

Do you do something that people with a certain superstition also do? But you do it for a different reason? If yes, is your reason medical? financial? health-related? job-related? practical?

Any of the following relevant: stepping on cracks? walking under ladders? the number 13? black cats? breaking mirrors? knocking on wood?

Whatever makes people assume you're superstitious:
is it something you do (if it is something you actively do?) regularly? often? rarely? Often to rarely, depending on circumstances.
something you wear? some sort of good luck charm? No to both.

Do you do something that people with a certain superstition also do? Not exactly, but something similar. But you do it for a different reason? Yes. If yes, is your reason medical? financial? health-related? job-related? practical? Neither is exactly correct, practical possibly closest.

Any of the following relevant: stepping on cracks? walking under ladders? the number 13? black cats? breaking mirrors? knocking on wood? This is the one.

FA because the item isn't wooden? because it isn't one item?
When you knock do you expect something to happen? Do you expect to learn some information? Not expect anything?

Relevant the material of the item? Iron? Plastic? Glass? Others? Is it a part of an engine? Of a car? of a book? of a clock? a touch screen?
Is the item bigger than a tennis ball? Is it a desk? A wall? a necklace? a phone? a screen? Something that you bring with you?
Is medical condition relevant (hope not)?
Is the item empty within? Does it contain a living creature? An animal?
Do you knock on the item? Is "Knocking on heaven's doors" relevant? (joking)
Do you knock on the item regularly? Every minute? Hour? day? week? month? year?
Is a magic trick involved? Do you knock on the item while you walk? When you sit at a desk? When indicating something? Do you knock on the item on purpose? I mean...on the contrary, for instance, if you are in a narrow place and you are performing another action in the meanwhile, you might be forced to knock on the item...
Is rhythm relevant? Like taking the beat? Is music relevant?

Do you produce a relevant noise when knocking? Do you relevantly cover another noise? Is this a way to do something that can be done also in another way (e.g., pressing a button)? Do you relevantly knock with a preferred hand? If so, right? left? are elevators relevant?
When you knock do you expect something to happen? Yes. --> someone/something knocking back? Something moving inside? a noise to be produced? something to be cleaned? something to be charged? something to activate? A light to be turned on/off?

Whoops, sorry.

Relevant the material of the item? Yes. Iron? Possibly. Plastic? Glass? No to both. Others? Possibly. Is it a part of an engine? Of a car? of a book? of a clock? a touch screen? Could reasonably be part of a car, possibly a clock.
Is the item bigger than a tennis ball? Yes. Is it a desk? Could be. A wall? Could be. a necklace? Probably not. a phone? a screen? Probably no to both. Something that you bring with you? No.
Is medical condition relevant (hope not)? No. OTRT though.
Is the item empty within? Irr. Does it contain a living creature? An animal? No.
Do you knock on the item? Sort of. Is "Knocking on heaven's doors" relevant? (joking) No.
Do you knock on the item regularly? No. Every minute? Hour? day? week? month? But months are broadly relevant. year?
Is a magic trick involved? No. Do you knock on the item while you walk? Possibly. When you sit at a desk? Possibly. When indicating something? No. Do you knock on the item on purpose? Yes. I mean...on the contrary, for instance, if you are in a narrow place and you are performing another action in the meanwhile, you might be forced to knock on the item... So not like this.
Is rhythm relevant? Like taking the beat? Is music relevant? No to all

Do you produce a relevant noise when knocking? Noish. Do you relevantly cover another noise? No. Is this a way to do something that can be done also in another way (e.g., pressing a button)? Yope. Do you relevantly knock with a preferred hand? If so, right? left? Usually my dominant hand, but irr. are elevators relevant? Not more than desks, walls, cars etc.
When you knock do you expect something to happen? Yes. --> someone/something knocking back? No. Something moving inside? No. a noise to be produced? The noise is not the reason. something to be cleaned? No. something to be charged? No, but OTRT. something to activate? A light to be turned on/off? No to both.

SPOILER:
You got it.

I don't knock on wood, but I knock on metal.

I get easily charged in the winter, and I have a very strong dislike for the sensation of electric shocks. Poking with an anti-static lanyard is the best, and holding a metal object such as a key works too, but if neither is available to me, knocking firmly lessens the sensation of the shock.
