[brtd83] Two men on a stage

Postby brtd83 » Thu Jan 12, 2023 9:44 pm

Two men stand on a stage near a group of other people before a crowd. One of the men gives a short speech introducing the second man, and tells the crowd that if they talk to that man or any other person present wearing the same type of shirt as the second man, they'll be able to eventually obtain something that there is no other way to obtain. A loud noise then starts and both men jump...and the crowd grabs them and carries them away.

Are there other people with the same type of shirt present? in the group of other people on the stage? in the crowd? elsewhere in the room?
Is the shirt part of an uniform of some sorts? are people in this shirt government officials? members of an organization? some sort of authority figures?
Is the thing the people may obtain siomething tangible? money? a right or permission? a medal or award of some sorts?
Is it something they're entitled to get if they request it? or does it depend on the goodwill of the people in the shirt?
Do the men jump into the crowd? away from the crowd? are they trying to escape something? escape the crowd?
Is the crowd carrying them away in otder to rescue them?
Does this happen indoors? putdoors?

Would they obtain a shirt? Would the entire crowd end up wearing the shirts? Is there a limited number of shirts, if so how many? How big is the crowd, relevant? Is it some kind of conversion, religious or otherwise? Do the shirts qualify them for something? Does it take place at a music festival, other festival, religious gathering? Besides talking to someone wearing a shirt, do they have to do anything else, e.g. say a phrase? Do they know in advance what is going to happen?

No.

Sarisberie2 wrote:Would the entire crowd end up wearing the shirts?

No.

Sarisberie2 wrote:Is there a limited number of shirts, if so how many?

Yes, but not particularly relevant, the number isn't relevant at all.

Sarisberie2 wrote:How big is the crowd, relevant?

Completely irrelevant.

Sarisberie2 wrote:Is it some kind of conversion, religious or otherwise?

No.

Sarisberie2 wrote:Do the shirts qualify them for something?

No. To clarify the crowd is not trying to obtain the shirts and even if they did get one it wouldn't be particularly useful.

Sarisberie2 wrote:Does it take place at a music festival, other festival, religious gathering?

Music festival, you got that part.

Sarisberie2 wrote:Besides talking to someone wearing a shirt, do they have to do anything else, e.g. say a phrase?

Yes, although it's not saying a phrase.

Sarisberie2 wrote:Do they know in advance what is going to happen?

Yes, in fact some people probably came to attend this with doing this being one of their goals such as myself...oh yeah this is an actual event that happened a few months ago and real thing that happened. I just received my item from this incident recently.

A bit of an additional hint/clarification: What the people can receive from the people in the shirts has no value in and of itself. It's simply something that will allow them to obtain something else at a later date. At the time this incident occurs, not a single person in the world owns or has ever owned the item they can obtain, and there is no other way to obtain it other than via the instructions the man gives in his speech (other than perhaps obtaining it second-hand from someone who obtained it via this way.)

Are the men in shirts members of a band? Are they giving away something related to the band or its performances? like: tickets for a special event?
Would the thing they could obtain later be something that is: rare? hard to obtain? more expensive for anyone else? not available for anyone else?

Yes

Sundowner64 wrote:hard to obtain?

Yes

Sundowner64 wrote:more expensive for anyone else?

Not exactly...but "anyone else" could only obtain it second-hand and being sold second-hand would likely be a higher price due to the above factors, so perhaps yes in a sense.

Sundowner64 wrote:not available for anyone else?

Yes. As noted at the time this event happens no one in the world owns it and no one ever has owned it.

Is the thing they could obtain later something tangible? Would it qualify as fan merchandise? collection item?
Is the reason why they first get just the right to obtain something (rather than the thing itself) because the thing did not yet exist at that moment? Is it something related to a future performance of the band?

Do the two men work for the festival? For a band that’s performing? Is one of them an emcee? Are they celebrities? Politicians? Vendors at the festival?

Would the fans get a recording of the concert? The opportunity to touch someone in the band? An instrument? Free drinks?

That would be quite the stretch to claim that.

None of the above.

Is the loud noise relevant? Is it the band starting up? A drum hit? A sound effect? Something weather-related? A stage prop being fired? Is it the cue for the men to jump?

Is the speaker an employee of the festival? Is the other man? Is one of them a promoter? Security guard? The festival’s head?

Is one of them just a regular old fan?

Are either of the two men responsible for making the thing that could later be claimed? Does the thing have to do with the festival? With one of the performers?

Is the location of the festival relevant?

Them being carried away = crowd-surfing?

Yes, and yes.

Sarisberie2 wrote:Is the speaker an employee of the festival? Is the other man? Is one of them a promoter? Security guard? The festival’s head?

The speaker is the festival's head. The other is not an employee of the festival.

Sarisberie2 wrote:Is one of them just a regular old fan?

No.

Sarisberie2 wrote:Are either of the two men responsible for making the thing that could later be claimed?

Yes, in the sense that the second man works for the company producing it.

With the band about to play, yes.

Possibly if it allowed you to look into fests they recently played. You've almost certainly never heard of them though.

Genre of music relevant? Is the man not employed by the festival relevantly employed by someone else? Is he paid for doing the things he do int he puzzle? Does he relevantly look like someone else? Relevant why they're crowd-surfing? Is it just for fun? To get the crowd excited? Security relevant?

Not really, although this sort of event and special release it's tough to see happening if it was a rap or country act or EDM or most genres.

GalFisk wrote:Is the man not employed by the festival relevantly employed by someone else?

Yes.

GalFisk wrote:Is he paid for doing the things he do int he puzzle?

Yes.

GalFisk wrote:Does he relevantly look like someone else?

Only in that other people are wearing the same shirt as him.

GalFisk wrote:Relevant why they're crowd-surfing? Is it just for fun? To get the crowd excited? Security relevant?

It's only relevant in that it shows their location and the sort of event, which has already been established.

The band, no.
A label, yes.
Something else related to music, yes you could say that.
Festivals and promotion, no, although that might be his role in the company but it's not what the company does.

Hint: Fests today often sell limited edition versions of physical media.

Limited editions of: CDs? LPs? Cassettes? Other music storage media? Other media? Such as posters? T-shirts? if they talk to this man or other like-shirted man, do they get to: buy something? Get something for free? Get a voucher? Or stamp? Or other token? Go somewhere? Can anyone present obtain the thing they can't obtin in any other way? Can only a limited number of people do so?

LPs yes. None of the others.

GalFisk wrote:if they talk to this man or other like-shirted man, do they get to: buy something?

Yes.

GalFisk wrote:Get something for free? Get a voucher? Or stamp? Or other token? Go somewhere?

Of those I would say they are getting a sort of token. Which is free, but has no value in its own. It's just lets you be able to buy the aforementioned LP.

GalFisk wrote:Can anyone present obtain the thing they can't obtin in any other way? Can only a limited number of people do so?

Can only be bought by attending the fest and obtaining the needed token (a QR code), or buying it second-hand from someone else who did. And yes, limited to a low amount.

Is the QR code: given away? Such as on a bit of paper? Shown, to be scanned? Does the man wear in on his clothing? Will it only work a certain number of times?

Was the QR code on the shirts mentioned above? So you had to get close enough to one who is wearing the shirt in order to capture the code?

Yes on a piece of paper. It only works for one order.
Sundowner64 wrote:Was the QR code on the shirts mentioned above? So you had to get close enough to one who is wearing the shirt in order to capture the code?

No. The shirts are just showing the logo of the company pressing the item (which has been answered above as an LP.) You see someone in the shirt and you can ask them for a paper QR code.

Honestly I think people are close enough to it now, so I'll say it.

At Furnace Fest 2022, Saturday on September 24, before the band Life In Your Way's set, main fest organizer Chad Johnson gave a brief speech where he proclaimed their album Waking Giants one of his top three Solid State Records releases of all time and announced it was being pressed for the first time ever on vinyl. It was one of three limited edition records, one for each day of the fest and that could only be obtained by being present there. He then said if anyone was interested in it to talk to a "person in the robot shirt" like the guy standing next to him, the robot being the logo of the pressing company they were partnered with, and you could obtain a QR code that allowed you to pre-order the record. And then to get off the stage when Life In Your Way began their set, both went crowd surfing.

I was there, rocked out at the set, obtained the QR code, and got my record in the mail the day a bit I made his puzzle.
