It was Saint Patrick's Day. In a number of countries, there is a schoolyard tradition of being allowed to pinch anyone who isn't wearing green on this day. The boy was wearing what he thought was a green shirt, but was in fact brown. After spending the day being pinched despite, so he thought, playing by the rules, he went to the doctor who confirmed he was colourblind.
