[Sarisberie] Turning Japanese

In Japan, prostitution is illegal, as it is in many countries around the world. However, one hotel doesn’t care about this law, and offers ‘companions’ on room service, at extra charge. The hotel makes a lot of money on the back of this venture, and the government can’t stop them.

Does the government want to stop them? Are they doing anything illegal? Is the hotel actually in Japan?

Are the companions robots?
If the companions are human, does the hotel cater to law-makers, government officials, or other people for whom it would be a scandal if their using these services were to be revealed?
Do the companions actually have sex with the guests? Do they do something else that a partner would normally do?
