[Sarisberie] D.I.S.C.O.

When the disco ended, a man got extremely angry with me. He thought I was pretending to be someone I was not.

You: Sarisberie? Was he angry that you were pretending? Did he think you were pretending to be you but was someone else? Was he drunk? Did he think you were pretending to be: a specific person? Someone of a specific profession? Member of a specific group? Owner of something? Relative or partner of someone?

Were you actually pretending to be someone else? did you dress up as someone else?
Relevant that is was after a disco? Relevant where the disco took place? indoors? outdoors? was the man one of the visitors at the disco? was he part of the staff? was he police? was he somehow related to the person he thought you were pretending to be?
Did you encounter the man while still being in the place where the disco had been? or afterwards on the street?
Was it a misunderstanding? Your name relevant? your outfit? things you did? said? people you were together with?

Were you also just a visitor? Did he think you worked at the event? Did you say something relevant to him, that made him make the mistake? To someone else? Did he think you'd tricked him? Tricked someone else? Got in for free? Cheated or lied to get an advantage?

Just so I'm clear, is does disco here just mean "club"? A dancing contest? Is it relevant whether you're dancing to disco music, or just like modern electronic music or whatever?

Gotta shake this question: roller disco relevant?

Did the man think you'd cheated while dancing? Does he think you have some ability that gives you a leg up?

UV light relevant?

Did he think you were pretending to be a specific person? Did he think you were someone working at the disco? That you were a cop? That you were someone who could hook him up with some substances that would make the night more enjoyable? Drugs/alcohol relevant at all?

Is a disco like a rave? Are glow sticks relevant? Other trippy dancing accoutrements?

Are any other people relevant?

Had you interacted with this guy throughout the disco?

Did he think you were pretending to be a person with a specific job? Did he think you were a person with a specific job who was pretending not to have that job?

I realize I was thinking this was happening in the 2000s. (Which contributed to me going, "What is a disco now?") Did it happen in the 70s? 80s? Relevant?

Had you been not dancing, which he took to mean you couldn't hear the music? Had you been dancing very close to the speakers, which he thought meant you were up close so you could hear? Did he think you were reacting more to physically feeling the vibrations of the music, vs hearing it normally? Were you doing things like leaning in close whenever someone was talking to you? Were you focusing extra-hard on trying to lip-read?

Were you there with someone deaf, who you were signing with? Even if you weren't, were you signing with people you wanted to talk to because it was easier than shouting over the music?

When the lights went on, did he see you hearing people? (If that makes sense?) Like, not having to rely on signing anymore? Did he see you talking? Had he assumed you were also mute?

Was he hard of hearing? Did he live in a flat complex with a policeman and Jake, the blind boy from your previous puzzle?

READY FOR A *********************************************$POYLOR*************************************************

I was at a disco. The man, who chose to spend a fair amount of time with me, presumed I was deaf. When the disco ended, he realised I wasn't. He then got very angry with me for 'pretending' to be deaf. I tried to convince him that I hadn't, which made things even worse. I got home OK though.

Thanks to everyone who took part and to trebor2 for the solve
