800 people, including yours truly, are in a lecture theatre. They all repeatedly and at the same time yell the last name of a person. This person is not in the room, but can be seen on screen. The person and I happen to have the same last name. What is happening could be yopeishly called a game or an inside joke.

Was this during a showing of Rocky Horror Picture Show, or any other film where the audience is expected to participate? Yes And if so is one of the steps shouting what happens to be your name at the screen? Not your own name, but the name of a character, which just happens to also be my name

Every year in December, student groups at universities all across Germany will put on showings of Die Feuerzangenbowle, a 1940s German movie that has gained a bit of a cult following. These showings usually involve audience participation comparable to the Rocky Horror Picture Show. One of the steps is shouting a character's name every time he says something. The character and I happen to share a (very common) last name, so that's how I ended up yelling my own name in a crowded lecture hall.
