I got off the bus, but something was wrong. What was it, why was I out of pocket and why was I late for work?

Were you at the wrong stop? Were you going to work? Relevant what your job is? Relevant where you work?
Traffic delays relevant? Construction? Did the bus break down?
Were you out of pocket because you had to pay more now for a ride to work? Were you late because you were lost? Because the bus didn’t take you where it was supposed to? Because you got off at the wrong stop?

Was something wrong before you got off the bus? When you did? Was getting off the bus the thing that was wrong? Were you late when you: got on the bus? Got off the bus? Did you take the bus to work? Or intend to do so? Relevant where you work? What you do there? Are you a bus driver? Was there something wrong with the bus? Thr route the bus took? The time the bus took? Did you cause the money issue? The lateness issue?

Were you out of pocket because you realized that all was your own fault? Did you have to work on a Sunday and did not take into account that the timetable is different? Did the bus schedule change recently?

Did thet money end up with the bus company? Some other company? Physically lost? Actually physically gone from your actual pocket? Amount relevant? Currency? Crime relevant? Did the mistake cause the loss? The lateness? Relevant how you paid for the bus trip? Were you fined?

Before you bought shoes, did you have: shoes that wereinappropriate for what you were going to do at work? Shoes which were damaged? Wet? Otherwise soiled? No shoes? Shoes that did not match?

In the ‘80s, I lived in Kent, and worked at High Holborn in London. I had to catch the 6am bus to get there in time. That day, I arrived with 2 completely different shoes due to tiredness + getting dressed in the dark. I had to buy a new pair in order to appear professional, and got a rocketing from my manager for being late.
