colleagues = co-workers in an organization? people working in the same field? having the same profession? having the same education?
people like me = people of the same profession? from the same country? showing the same behavior?
behavior = something done accidentally? intentionally? with a particular purpose?
Did the behavior harm anybody?
Did the one who showed this behavior already at that moment take into account that he would later need to apologize for it?
Did he do whatever he did in professional context?
The one who apologizes: H/A/M? same questions for the "people like him"?
The time between the behavior and the apology: minutes? hours? days? weeks? years? decades? centuries?

So, you always go shopping within the last hour before the store closes and this is the behaviour you apologize for. It is relevant why you go shopping late, but it has nothing to do with the store being crowded or there being traffic. You (and others) going to the store late yesishly causes extra work for the staff. Correct so far? Could we get a hint?

Do they deliver food to the supermarket? No. are they employed by the same company that owns the supermarket, but are not staff at that particular store? Employed, yes. Whether they work at the store or somewhere else differs, I believe.
Do they handle cash? deliver cash to the store? collect cash from there? count it? check for forged money? Could be, but if so it's a minor and not puzzle-relevant part of their job.

If these people are not working at the same store, would they then work at some different store? in the company's headquarter? in home office?
Would they come to this store as part of their job? every day around the time when the shop closes?
Is their presence required for the shop to close? Would they do their work before the shop closes? when the shop closes? after it closed?

Would they come to this store as part of their job? Probably. every day around the time when the shop closes? No.

Just so I'm clear and up to speed, the relevant [type of] store is a supermarket/grocery store, right? Like, this wouldn't work with an office supply store, or clothing store, or whatever?
Is the third relevant group the supervisors of the other employees? Management? The owner(s)? Employees with the same position, but working a different shift? Perhaps the opening shift? The middle shift? Does the third group work in a relevant department of the supermarket?
Do you go in the last hour because products are more picked over, so you don't spend as much time deciding between things? Or maybe stores near you re-stock a little bit earlier than that so that they're ready for the next day, and you go then knowing that will have happened? Is the reason that you go in the last hour related to the store? The availability of whatever you want to purchase? Something to do with your home life? Work life?
Weird thought, but hygiene relevant? Do you like to make going to the store the last thing you do before taking off your day-clothes and settling into pjs or sweats or whatever? Or right before going to bed? Before taking a shower? Anything like that?

Just so I'm clear and up to speed, the relevant [type of] store is a supermarket/grocery store, right? Correct. Like, this wouldn't work with an office supply store, or clothing store, or whatever? Not impossible, but they're a lot less susceptible to this.
Is the third relevant group the supervisors of the other employees? Management? The owner(s)? Management or owners. Employees with the same position, but working a different shift? Perhaps the opening shift? The middle shift? Does the third group work in a relevant department of the supermarket?

Is the reason that you go in the last hour related to the store? The availability of whatever you want to purchase? Something to do with your home life? Work life? The reason is irrelevant, what's relevant is that I always go in the last hour, regardless of their opening hours.

Does the management come to the store? Do they have some necessary interactions with the staff? Do these interactions start as soon as the employees have time for it? as soon as the last customer left? as soon as the store closed? as soon as the cash register was closed and the money counted?
Is it an after work party?

Does the management come to the store? Probably. Do they have some necessary interactions with the staff? No specific interaction is relevant, assume they do normal management stuff. Do these interactions start as soon as the employees have time for it? as soon as the last customer left? as soon as the store closed? as soon as the cash register was closed and the money counted? All irr.
Is it an after work party? No.

Does you (and other people) coming in for shopping in the last hour mean that the store staff can leave the store only later? all of them? some of them? only the management? Do they (the relevant group) leave the store after the store has closed? immediately when the store closes? within 5 minutes? 10 minutes? 30 minutes? more?
Provided no customer at all would enter the store in the last hour: would this make a difference? would they then leave earlier? still after the store has closed? even before? would they close earlier?
Same questions provided you and all the customers show up as usual but the store management would not be present?

SPOILER: the management keeps increasing the opening hours. Since I come in during the last hour, even after the increase, I make it seem to management like the increase in opening hours was justified. That's not true though, I'm simply a procrastinator when it comes to food shopping, and if they closed earlier I'd have no problem with going earlier.
Thanks for playing!

But maybe the store workers also appreciate to work later in the day (and possibly earn more).

Good puzzle.
