I would have thought Tom would be at least mildly interested that this sort of thing has been going on since Internet 1.0, but I imagine his schedule is still quite busy, despite being in semi-retirement. I would have narrowly missed him when he was in Breaker Bay shooting his segment on pest control in Wellington, but it's a fraught business approaching people when abiding by the Breaker Bay dress code...

Both received Best Actress nominations for their efforts at the 1998 Oscars; Gloria's as a supporting actress due to the relatively minor role of the present-day character

There are two other films where two actors have received nominations for playing the same character - Kate Winslet (again) and Dame Judi Dench playing Iris Murdoch in 2001's Iris, and Olivia Colman and Jessie Buckley as Leda Caruso in The Lost Daughter (2022)
