I'm getting concerned that maybe my puzzle statement is overly cryptic and misleading and as a result so are my answers to your questions so I'm going to clarify things with a new statement/Hint

24 people are carrying out a task which takes them 2 days. As a result they fail to become aware of something which I'm sure they'll never forget.

Not wishing to let this descend into a guessing game but have a few tries at establishing what they missed. It's a common theme at the moment (well on this forum anyway) . I'd loved to have seen their reaction when they were told.

As I've said I have a somewhat unhealthy obsession with the events that took place in Dallas in November 1963. While reading an excellent book on the subject recently I learned a new fact.

Two juries in the US (The book didn't say where) were deliberating on such important cases that the judge not only ordered them to be sequestered he also made it clear that they were not to be informed of Kennedy's assassination until they reached a verdict.

The hotel staff and court officials were under threat of a contempt of court if any word of the Dallas events distracted the jury members from the deliberations.

I believe both juries reached their verdict on Monday morning and I can only imagine their reaction when relieved of their duty they asked the inevitable question 'So did anything interesting happen while I was away?'

Amazing to think there were 24 sane and sober Americans who by Monday 25th November 1963 had never heard of Dealy Plaza, Lee Oswald or Jack Ruby
