vegetable as in that type of food that nobody likes to eat?
store as in an establishment that sells food?
Did the store gain by selling this particular vegetable?
If so, is the store a big chain? A local grocery?
Was the vegetable unknown until the store sold it?

Was it one particular vegetable (i.e. a single carrot)? Or one type of vegetable (i.e. carrots)?
Did the store that was helped also sell the vegetable?
Was the vegetable purchased by the owners/management of the helped store? Who re-sold the vegetable for a higher price at their store?

Could it have just as easily been another type of vegetable? Is it a common vegetable? Common but this variety isn't?
Did consumers buy the vegetable in the hopes of gaining some benefit? Health? Weight loss? Did consumers make any FAs about the vegetable in the store in question vs the competitor store?

Vegetable is - something grown under the soil? above the soil? Leafy? Stalky? Has seeds within? Green? Red? Yellow? Purple/Black/Blue? Brown? Orange?

Do everyday consumers relevantly eat this product? An Individual (Famous?)? A small group? Did the competitor run out of the vegetable? Have a problem with the vegetable?

Any of these relevant - Vegetarians? Gourmet? Food dish/recipe? Another not common use for the vegetable?

So it's a variety of potato? Or onion? Any relevant properties of vegetable that are viewable - like they have eyes, skin, or size, color?
If potatoes - mashed? boiled? fried? baked?
I assume the "benefit" is making? or eating? the dish
So the particular food dish - represents another country/culture? Is decidedly very tasty?
Does this occur in a Western country?

Did eating the chips cause unpleasant health issue to the employee? To the buyer?
After the situation, would employee and buyer buy chips in the helped store next time?

Do we have all the relevant characters? If so can you give them names, brief descriptions (relation, store they work for etc? Can we give the stores names? Possible recap?

Did the person who ate the chips have - acid reflux/heartburn? Or GI track gases?

Did onlookers see the person eating the chips when he was feeling sick and say to themselves "I'm not gonna eat those chips"? And as a result "I'm not gonna shop at that store"?

Did the person who ate the chips have - acid reflux/heartburn? Exactly. Or GI track gases? No.

Did onlookers see the person eating the chips when he was feeling sick and say to themselves "I'm not gonna eat those chips"? No. And as a result "I'm not gonna shop at that store"? No.

Jake buys a bag of chips at Wally's. Jake shares them with his life partner Gina, who works for another store, Yodel. The chips give Jake heartburn a relevant time later, and he eats or drinks something (not really relevant what, or where it comes from) that remedies it. All this somehow helps Yodel.

Did Jake and Gina talk about how chips harmed Jake? About how the antacid remedied him? Did they invent a new way to advertise something? Did they invent a new way to promote Yodel? Did they work out the way to raise prices at Yodel?

Yes.
***SPOILER***
This happened to us last saturday.
I like potato chips, but they sometimes give me heartburn. Friday night we ate chips, saturday morning I woke up from heartburn, went to take an antacid. I incidentally woke up my partner, who discovered that she had forgotten to set the alarm for her monthly weekend shift. The vegetable helped her get to work in the store on time.

Which store we shop from each time is down to selection and convenience; we don't feel any particular loyalty to any of the big chains.
