So, does "wrong calendar" mean next year's calendar instead of the current year's? Is it relevant what month it is when she is fired? If so, January? December?

Though I have no heart, I am not a lawyer. I think it's the spine that sets me apart. I have little else to go with in this day and age. A suspended sentence? Although I believe with every marrow of my being that there was potential for greater liability.

I used to feel that way when it was quiet in the shop where I worked alone. I'd find that it was later than I realised and my colleague would later ask me if I'd nodded off.

She was an anaesthetic nurse who had put the next year's calendar on the wall as a prank. Upon waking from an operation, the patient saw the calendar, believed they had been in a coma for a year or so, suffered a heart attack and died (after, presumably, uttering something indemnifying in the vein of 'WHAT? 2017?')

Thus ends the life of a patient, the career of a nurse, and a puzzle by this old fossil. I hope you enjoyed it. The rigor of your questioning was rivalled only by the rigor of my mortis.

I did a puzzle many years ago where I said that if I woke and found my family by my bed I'd believe I was dying. I'd had a nasty cough that could turn serious but if my family travelled to be by me I'd know something was up. After all, where there's a will, there's a relative.
