Angelo is a chaplain for an active-duty military unit that is largely Catholic, and every Ash Wednesday he marks crosses ("lower case t's") in ash on their foreheads. He also works as a medic during combat, and when he must apply a tourniquet in the field he marks a capital T on the patient's forehead. This is standard practice in First Aid, so that the next doctor to provide treatment is immediately aware there is a tourniquet, even if the patient is unconscious; tourniquets must be removed as soon as possible to prevent the limb from atrophy.
