Does "it" have something to do with a war? "It" isn't a war but I'd say it's war-adjacent. A natural disaster? No. A crime? A crime is relevant. Did it affect people in a specific area? People who had something in common? Yes to both, but also more broad.

Is it considered unlucky for most people because it's dangerous? Deadly? No to both. Something potentially life-changing? This is a tricky question. I'll say yope. Did she avoid the part most people consider unlucky? No. Benefit from it? Yope.

Murder is involved too, but there's a more specific term which would be better still. Fraud? Not specifically, but I believe the criminals committed this as well at some point. Assault? Probably could be considered this too, but again, there's a much more accurate term than any of those.

It would certainly have taken Lulu time to realize how lucky she was, but not in this way or for this reason.

But Lulu was (AFAIK) the only one to experience it and be lucky. Or is she alone? Could you clarify what you mean by "alone" please? Does anyone have to inform Lulu that she's lucky or does she realize it without being told? She would have been told some relevant information at some point but once given that, could likely figure out she was lucky without being told that specifically.

IMPORTANT CLARIFICATION: In addition to the event we have been discussing, there is another relevant event that I believe previous questions established existed but nobody has explored. This event is not a terror attack, war-adjacent, or any of those things but is related to that event. As noted by prior questions, this other event is not in any way famous but is what the "it" in the puzzle statement is referring to, not the well-known event you have been asking questions about the last few posts. In other words "it" is certainly related to the famous event/terror attack/war adjacent event, but "it" is not that event itself.

Is "it" something that happened multiple times? To a different person each time? Could it happen to a person more than once? Does it happen to people who belong to a certain demographic? Is Lulu's age relevant? Her ethnicity? Religion? I got a potential FA when I asked about her job, so is she a student? Does she have a relevant hobby?

Did "it" happen at all before 9/11? Does it involve security in any way? Perhaps at airports? Does it involve IDs? Government documents? Being selected for jury duty? Receiving a ticket/fine? Being late for something? Being stuck in traffic? Getting bumped from a flight? Can it only happen around the time of a terrorist attack? Or other tragedy? Being solicited for donations?

The number of people "it" happened to: dozens? Hundreds? Thousands? Millions? Only people in New York? Only Americans?
