Relevant the material of the item? Yes. Iron? Possibly. Plastic? Glass? No to both. Others? Possibly. Is it a part of an engine? Of a car? of a book? of a clock? a touch screen? Could reasonably be part of a car, possibly a clock.
Is the item bigger than a tennis ball? Yes. Is it a desk? Could be. A wall? Could be. a necklace? Probably not. a phone? a screen? Probably no to both. Something that you bring with you? No.
Is medical condition relevant (hope not)? No. OTRT though.
Is the item empty within? Irr. Does it contain a living creature? An animal? No.
Do you knock on the item? Sort of. Is "Knocking on heaven's doors" relevant? (joking) No.
Do you knock on the item regularly? No. Every minute? Hour? day? week? month? But months are broadly relevant. year?
Is a magic trick involved? No. Do you knock on the item while you walk? Possibly. When you sit at a desk? Possibly. When indicating something? No. Do you knock on the item on purpose? Yes. I mean...on the contrary, for instance, if you are in a narrow place and you are performing another action in the meanwhile, you might be forced to knock on the item... So not like this.
