Are they on Earth? Indoors? Is Nathan's first cat different from Liam's cat? Are the three mollusks all different? All the same? Are they making guesses? Giving clues? Speaking in code? Actually saying the quoted things? Are they HAM?

Are their names relevant? Does it matter that each name starts with the last letter of the preceding name? That they have names from consecutive letters of the alphabet? Are there other people involved?

Is a specific type of each of the things they mention relevant? Or a specific other word for the thing? (ie, name for a cat could be tiger, or Garfield?)

This reminds me of a game my father-in-law introduced me to last night. The aim is to get other players to guess the person you're thinking of by using wordplay to come up with alternate definitions for their names or parts thereof. "It's cold out, trying to sell something, a big hole" was Brad Pitt.

Like in GalFisk's example of spelling out something, "Goat, alligator, lion, fish, ibex, snake, kangaroo" would represent "GalFisk". Is there a single "meaning" to be "decoded" from each list like this (not necessarily by spelling out, but combining in some way)? or are the lists more to be understood as groups of separate things (that nonetheless have something in common/are related in some way)?

If there is a "global meaning" to each list, then I will ask my question again, clarifying--namely do all three lists "decode" to the SAME "meaning"? Like for example, someone else might represent "GalFisk" as "Gorilla, antelope, lion, flamingo, iguana, squirrel, kangaroo"--where although some words are changed it still represents "GalFisk"--as opposed to someone else's list being "Tiger, rhino, eagle, boar, orangutan, rat" where the meaning is "Trebor" instead.

The only other molluscoid college team I know of is the Evergreen State Geoducks in Washington State, but either way they are on the west coast of the US.
