Well, it's difficult to compete with David, no matter how much of a specimen he insists he's not.

Are the people fed up with the name itself? Are they fed up with tourists taking photos of themselves beside the street sign? Or with extra traffic or whatever a name like that could bring? Are there relevantly any people protesting the name? Getting offended by it? Starting up petitions or whatever to change the name?

My hometown is Regina, and it rhymes with vagina, unlike the Latin word for queen (although it was named for Victoria, the UK monarch at the time). The city has been the butt of jokes whenever a major movie or whatever was shot there, or someone famous gets interviews and it turns out they're from Regina. Tatiana Maslany, for example, is from Regina, and whenever Conan O'Brien or whoever mentions the city she takes it in good fun but is like, "Ha, yeah, no one from there has ever noticed that it rhymes with vagina before. Wow, thanks for pointing that out." Something like that going on here?

Dylan McDermott once appeared on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and talked about how when he was making a movie in Regina he walked out of his hotel to see that in the park across the street there was a huge food festival going on called Taste of Regina, and it still made him giggle. I know exactly what hotel and park he was talking about. Drag artists also call it the Queen City - obviously - and it's known as the City That Rhymes with Fun.

The folks who live in Fanny Avenue, Derbyshire, UK, are fed up because people keep taunting them about their street name. This happens when they have to give their address details, and sometimes when people come to the street. The sign has been defaced and even stolen. People stand next to it to have their photo taken, sometimes combined with lewd hand signals and gurning. To the residents, it's not even offensive any more; it's just boring.

In the UK the word 'fanny' means 'vagina'... but in the USA it means 'bottom' or 'butt'.
In the USA, you call a bag worn on your behind a ‘fanny pack’.
But in the UK, we call that a ‘bum bag’.
But in the USA, a ‘bum’ is what we would call a ‘tramp’.
