Over the course of a year (1998-1999) we - hundreds of 'hippies' - built a stone circle in North Yorkshire, with only rudimentary tools (ropes etc). No one thought about a map. In 2000 a couple of blokes in an Ordnance Survey map plane were flying overhead and espied our circle. At first - from the air - they believed it was an ancient one and were shocked that OS had missed it. Later, they were found wandering around asking where the stone circle was. Anyway, the circle was added to maps later in 2000. Well done to biograd1 for the solve and to everyone who took part
