Hi, not been on here in almost a couple of years and I unfortunately neglected some puzzles I had running at that time, so firstly apologies if anyone remembers them. But, I've had a new one in my head for a while though, so thought it'd be right to share it!

In a room one night, Nick and Simon are having an argument. Another man approaches the pair and, after a short while, unleashes a violent and unprovoked assault upon Nick. Later, all three men are very glad that he did.

RECAP

Nick, Simon and Thurston are members of a heavy metal band. Simon, who plays bass, tells Hubert the lighting engineer to do something during a live performance, which angers Nick, who plays drums. This event causes Nick to start an argument with Simon after their performance is over. The lead singer, Thurston, joins the pair and sides with Simon for the sole purpose of winding Nick up even more, as he is secretly recording the audio of the conflict. Something then happens after this which results in Thurston genuinely assaulting Nick, which in turn prevented something bad from happening. Within months, the band realised the importance of this and all they are all very glad about it decades later.
