[android180] False Pretences

Postby android180 » Sat May 14, 2022 11:38 am

Recently, I was scrolling through social media when I came across a post announcing some breaking news. Upon reading the comments, I was both pleased and annoyed. Why?

Was this an actual news post? Or a person's post which contained some news? Personal to them? or otherwise? Did the post's contents affect you, whether directly or indirectly? Did you believe, or trust, something previously, which had now proved to be false? Was it relevantly on Facebook, or elsewhere? Did it include something other than text?

Were the news in general good? bad? neutral? for you personally good? bad? neutral?
Do the news relate to you personally (i.e. do they mention you, or so)?
Were you pleased about some comments and annoyed about some others? or pleased and annoyed about the same comments?
Were you also pleased and annoyed about the news themselves?
Were you pleased because the commenters showed empathy? appreciated something? agreed with your opinion? expressed happiness?

Weather relevant? An accident? Were people hurt, killed, inconvenienced, lost money or property?

Did the event occur in Europe? Elsewhere? Is it a discrete event, or an ongoing one? A one-time event? An expected one? One planned for?

Were the commenters relating the event to something else? If so, something actually related? Unrelated?

Does the news involve any heads of state?

Not a scientific discovery, but is a discovery of another sort relevant? Like, an archaeological discovery? A marine discovery? Was something invented? Created? A formula proven? Does the news fall under the realm of technology?

Europe is most relevant out of the continents, but no specific European country is relevant? Is the EU relevant? Something else that is common to multiple European countries? Are any European cultures relevant? Or customs? Languages? Is the event something that was more likely to happen in Europe vs somewhere else? Size of European countries relevant?
