Was it to be poured directly into the casing? into some specific part? (or onto some specific part?)
Was the casing broken?
Would the liquid fix a problem? improve sound quality? prevent the amplifier from breaking?

Did someone give you some advice about how to improve the working of the amplifier that you found dubious/ludicrous? and you made fun of the suggestion by interpreting it as though it were asking you to pour liquid into the amplifier?

Does it matter how you asked the question (as in, in face to face conversation, over the phone, in a written note, on a web forum, etc.)? to whom?
