Why did I think that I had forgotten my password to a website I often visit?

Does it matter how you accessed it? (ie device type, internet browser, etc) If so, was this different than the norm? Was the password automatically filled in?

Anything to do with your password habits? For example, do you use a pattern such as adding a number to your normal password every time you have to change it?

Anything to do with the requirements of the password (ie, must include special characters or one each of capital, lower case and number)?

Did the thought come to you while entering your password? when being prompted to enter the password? after you entered the password? after you got an error message? while doing something entirely different?
Did you actually enter the password? wrongly? different keyboard layouts relevant? accidentally caps lock?
Do you normally enter the password each time when you visit the page? or is it stored in the browser? in a password manager?

Is the other website (the one that isn't OEDILF) also a dictionary? also a site relating to the meaning or etymology of words? also a poetry-related site?

Do the sites have similar URLs? a similar color scheme/layout? a similar placement of the username/password fields on the page (that is uncommon for other websites)? Do you use the same username on both sites, but with different passwords?

Yes, and it helped cause the confusion, but was not the main reason. a similar placement of the username/password fields on the page (that is uncommon for other websites)? Irr. Do you use the same username on both sites, but with different passwords? Yes, but that's true for other sites where I didn't have this issue.

Did you, in fact, realize what password you were typing? What I mean is, as opposed to a situation where, for example, one password is just the other password typed with caps lock on, and you didn't notice that caps lock was on, or where using a different keyboard layout "turns" one password into another.

What I mean is, as opposed to a situation where, for example, one password is just the other password typed with caps lock on, and you didn't notice that caps lock was on, or where using a different keyboard layout "turns" one password into another. This was not the issue.

I often visit the OEDILF and the LTPF one after the other. In both cases, I'm looking forward to reading and replying to interesting comments by smart and creative people on things I'd come up with. This feeling is similar enough that I repeatedly wrote the LTPF password (which has a common part and a separate part) on the OEDILF board.
